“Mark peered closely at one; he could sense the non-human thing that it was. Was it logical, smart, or primitive? They seemed actually very intelligent, with possibly a “munster” sort of intelligence, and it responded to him.”- Spidersilk the book

In Spidersilk the novel, the main character Mark manages to travel through hyperspace with ease. His enemies, on the other hand, accidentally find themselves traveling through hyperspace when they crash into a wormhole. Although it isn't exactly possible for us to travel through hyperspace there is actually a vehicle, like that the foes of the story travel through, that might have the human race traveling through space in never before thought of speeds. In fact, we may even be able to catch a ride to the moon in only three hours. You can't even manage to make it through most states in that amount of time!

Repeating patterns

The book Spidersilk utilizes repeating patterns as an underlying explanation for the story scenario with multiple worlds. The character Mark finds a way on multiple occasions to connect to various different 'places' which seem similar yet different. Nature it seems repeats endlessly and therefore patterns in one world may exist in another. Some with large differences and developments to others with smaller differentials. This actually seems quite common in nature and there are many studies on this topic. Wouldn't it be fun to find a way of connecting to another place and discover that it is actually a similar pattern to the one you live in?

“The aroma of the espresso mixed with Mark’s natural masculinity and the still-fresh carpet smell, which had been there since he had the carpets cleaned.”- Spidersilk the book

As readers begin to follow Mark through his new home there is one change that Mark has to remark on, his yard. The change seems to be subtle at first, but Mark keeps an eye on his yard and it slowly begins to resemble his own styles. In the novel Spidersilk, Mark is filled with Qui, hence his last name, which helps him alter his reality slightly. The yard changes just as his alternative video games are created. Magic essence indeed.
