As we learned from Spidersilk the novel, spider silk can save lives and offers remarkable amounts of protection. We’ve recently discovered that spider silk can be grown in many ways. Although may scientist have figured how to make synthetic spider silk, there are still some programs where spider silk is grown. In one case, where spider silk is grown on tobacco leaves, scientist believe they may have found a cure for Ebola. This discovery could save millions of lives.
