During Spidersilk you may have felt as
if you knew some of the places mentioned in the book, however, in
Mark's world places like Olympia, Washington or Memphis were a part
of Mark's creative world. These cities he would add to his video games
in order to give people something to connect with that is both
familiar and unfamiliar. Of course, to us the cities in which Mark
lived, like Olympus or Memphra, are just an alternative view of what
we already know. This is a great technique to help show an
alternative reality which leaves readers feeling more a part of their
own world and even more curious about the alternative world.
In Spidersilk, author Akutra-Ramses Atenosis Cea sends readers on a thrilling ride connecting to alternate realms where natural is a bit more super with mystery, dreams and discovery.

In Spidersilk Mark actually fights off
ghosts who appear in a black mist during one of his “dreams.” The
ghost are defeated using different items that Mark finds throughout
the book, which create a sonic blast that gives the ghosts a bit more
than they bargained for. The ghost, as resilient as they are, begin
to reform but there is one major change in them..their noses are
white. This is due to the fact that the ghosts were actually blown
away by the blast and when they came together they actually breathed
in a bit of Mark's atmosphere, which is something they didn't want to
do. The white represents a change in them and is used as a direct
contrast to the black so it is easy to the change. The ghost scatter
knowing that they are now changed.

In Spidersilk there are many
relationships that tend to connect with one another more than the
typical relationship. One such example is that of Tia and Tina.
Although Tia isn't of the same dimension as Tina she finds herself
connected with Tina and Mark and eventually finds herself becoming
Mark's ally against the ghosts. During this time, Tina is lost and
ends up perishing in Mark's dimension, of course she is reborn into a
new dimension as Jara where she is given the chance to have a
brighter and more youthful outlook. After accepting this shinier
version of herself Tina is disconnected from Mark who could have
saved her from the black ghosts. With this rewrite of her own self
Tina separates from her real life forever, which just goes to show
things aren't always greener.

When it comes to the story of
Spidersilk you may see a subtle resemblance to that of Robin Hood.
Chris Vocal, the CEO of the company Mark is contracted to, actually
begins the story as a struggling worker in his own dimension. It
isn't until Vocal finds himself in Mark's dimension that he becomes
incredibly rich. Of course, Vocal does a fair amount of robbing from
Mark and his friends, so there is no telling how many people lost
their cash to Vocal and his colleagues. This follows the Robin Hood
story quite a bit though, as it has been documented that dear ole
Robin wasn't exactly giving up a whole lot of the money he robbed to
the poor.

In Spidersilk, Mark finds himself
visiting the theater with Mairis. Although it might seem like the two
of them simply hanging out there is a lot of hidden elements in the
description of the theater as well as the movie choices. If you
notice, the theater is actually shaped like a spider web which hints
at the spiders that were protection Mark. It is also a design of
Ramses who plays a major role in the outcome of the story. That's not
all though. Each of the movie titles shows an element in the book! Of
course, Mark gravitates towards the movie that hints at being a master
of Khi, which seems to show quite a bit about our leading man.

In Spidersilk Mark, like most people
today, lives his life sleeping as little as possible. He goes from
waking up to downing an espresso and spending his days keeping pretty
busy before he tumbles into bed numerous hours later. Many people in
today's society can probably relate to this busy schedule, but so
many have actually panicked about the lack of sleep they get. For
decades now we've actually believed getting 8 hours in crucial to our
well being. Some studies now actually say that getting 5 hours of
sleep is healthier than the 8 hours we've always believed to be true.
Although this might be great news with our busy lifestyles it could
correlate with exhaustion mentally or physically in some people. I
guess the real question is how many hours would you prefer to sleep
and why?

In Spidersilk Mark goes through some
amazing battles to come out prosperous at the end of the book. There
are many symbols throughout the book that leave us reassured that
Mark will be okay though. For example, in one part of the book Mark
actually sees a lark on his front lawn. The lark is generally seen as
a symbol of luck and brings prosperity to those who see it.
Coincidentally, after seeing the lark Mark actually gets a large some
of credits added to his Paypal. Seeing a lark is also a sign of self
discovery. Perhaps, this lark helped Mark find the power to defeat
his foes. What do you think?

Years ago you could classify family as
a blood relative, even in professional places. In the novel
Spidersilk, the main character Mark touches on the concept of
referring to someone as a blood relative and how it almost seems
primitive to refer to someone as that because of how far we have come
medically. We've known for a long time that DNA is what biologically
connects us to relatives and can even link us to some ancestors from
way back. It is easily compared to a coding system if you want to
think technologically. Blood is made up of so many components that
stating someone is a blood relative is quite a vast statement. You
can't claim everyone with the same blood type as you a relative can
you?

transformed a woman's view of blood relatives follow this link:

In today's society people tend to use
their tablets and smartphones quite a bit. In Spidersilk, we are
shown a more technologically savvy society that has tablets designed
to take care of just about everything. Each of the characters shown
in the book seem to have their tablets as a constant reliable
companion that keeps them connected to the rest of society. Even
though tablets and smartphones aren't exactly a must have right now,
the future is leaning towards the same concept shown in Spidersilk.
For instance, the future of tablets might boast a battery free design
that doesn't just take care of social media, but business affairs,
schooling and everything you could possible needs to make your life
efficient. So, how long will it take before everyone in the country
is equipped with one of these devices just to survive in modern
society?

Spidersilk has many amazing elements
that are part of today's paranormal intrigue. One element is the
strange mist that often accompanies an appearance that enlightens
Mark, or tries to bring him fear. The mist always seems to make an
appearance in a dark nature which is commonly seen in today's world
by many who believe in ghost. This dark mist is called an ectoplasm
in today's paranormal world and is one of the most common ghost
sightings that many parapsychologists are asked to investigate. In
the book Mark ends up defeating the mist, but in today's world we
actually have very few answers as to which mists are real and which
are hoaxes.

Crows typically have a negative
reputation which most people consider to their only attribute. There
are actually many incredible myths about the crow that seem to get
overlooked when people bring out the more negative myths. For
instance, the crow is actually a symbol of intelligence, adaptability
and bravery. As a totem animal, the crow brings out the survivor in
you while helping to unveil your destiny. In Spidersilk, Mark
encounters many crows prior to the wise Indian Elder appears to him.
The Elder gives him incredible advice that helps him live out his
destiny and find the courage to take down the men who are causing his
friends and himself damage. The crows, at first, put off an eery vibe
as they announce Mark's presence. This is because crows are
considered to have an insight like no other. It is possible that
these amazing creatures were the totem animal of the Elder, as this
would allow him to manipulate the physical world, as he magically
seems to appear in front of Mark, while also providing him with
insight and strength that no other totem animal could provide.

misunderstood animal check out this link:

When we start to end our Spidersilk
journey we find out that Mark's foe, Chris, has actually been in a
coma in his original dimension while the story has played out. Once
defeated by Mark, Chris actually flatlines and then regains
consciousness in his own dimension. Victims of a coma have had many
struggles throughout time because many are seen as brain dead and are
usually believed to be gone for good. Recent technology has
discovered that many people who are in a coma are actually very much
conscious in other areas of the brain. Recently new scans have been
developed that have brought coma victims who were believed to be
unconscious for over 20 years back to life in a way. These scans have
allow many to communicate with loved ones even though their body is
unable to do so. With Chris, his coma actually took him to Mark's
dimension, which is an amazing idea in itself. There have actually
been many people who have woken up with the belief that they traveled
elsewhere while they were seemingly unconscious to the world. This
form of astral projection or dreaming might bring more to light in
the future about what happens with the brain when a coma occurs and
if people are actually able to visit other realms while they seem to
be checked out of this one.

There are many elements which work to
help Mark figure out what needs to be accomplished to defeat his
foes. One such element was the introduction of the dream catcher
which eventually leads Mark to a spirit guide that gives valuable
advice. The dream catcher is an important element in many ways
though. These devices were originally created by Native American
tribes who wished to protect tribal members from nightmares that
flowed through the night time air. When you look at the dream catcher
you have to understand that every aspect of the dream catcher is
important. One of the most iconic elements in the webbing, which is
much like the spider webbing that protects Mark. The webbing helps
trap the negative while filtering the positive dreams down to the
dreamer via the dangling feather. Mark was very lucky with his
dreaming abilities, no matter the nature of the dream, as he
utilized all elements of the dream to his greater advantage. However,
the dream catcher was his way of unlocking valuable information and
strength for his upcoming battle.

One of the finest elements in the novel
Spidersilk is the incredible characters that have so much story
within each of them. As the story progresses readers are exposed to
so many important people that you just have to fall in love with the
detail given. One such character is Rae Osira who only plays a brief
part in the actual novel. The important aspect of Rae is his
kidnapping and what it helps unravel. Rae's surname actually gives
readers a fine hint as to his role in the book though. The name Osira
is very close to Osiris, an Egyptian god who had great wealth, just
as Rae did in the story. The god Osiris was married to Isis, which
isn't the case in Spidersilk, but in both elements Isis did end up
leading to the discovery of the kidnappers. It just so happens that
Sett, the enemy in the novel, also ended up killing Osiris in
mythology. This connection, as well as many others in the novel,
really help make the story incredibly rich!

Who's Laughing Now
In Spidersilk, Mark has two encounters
with a Hyena which he sees using his third eye. In both cases, Mark
has just experienced an event that was traumatic or confusing. The
hyena, although often seen as a joker or weak figure, has been used
as the symbol of treachery, wisdom and fascination. In fact, the
hyena is known throughout many cultures to have the powers of
divination so they can easily see things that are going to transpire
as well as good and evil forces in the world. This may be why the
hyena decides to appear to Mark, as the hyena also has the ability to
hear the voices and know the evil that is occurring. In Spidersilk,
the hyena appears to Mark as being sickly in appearance which may be
its way of showing Mark that he is going to need more than his wisdom
to get past the one's who are causing him and his friends harm.
Interestingly enough, the hyena also played a Biblical role. The
hyena was said to carry a blind boy into town so he could have his
vision restored. I bet you won't look at hyenas the same way again.

In Spidersilk, you'll find an amazing
amount of technology that makes life better in many aspects. From
current technological trends, like tablets, to more elaborate
projects this book really makes each of the dimensions seem awesome.
One of these technological devices is the range seeker, which is
designed to help the blind and seeing impaired get through life as if
they were actually seeing. Although, in this dimension we are
currently barely breaking the surface with our disability technology,
there are actually have a lot of exciting things in the works. Between
surgeries and devices, pretty soon a disability will be nothing more
than a small attribute a person possesses.

Art 101
In Spidersilk, Mark is given a piece of
art work to hold onto until a friend could pay him back for a loan.
Mark, thoroughly impressed with the work, even displayed the art in
his own home. So, what's the big deal? Well, if you remember
correctly, the night this artwork is handed over to Mark the voices
began to talk to him. Not only that, but the day the piece is
returned to the creator the problem with the thieves is settled and
Mark and his friends are victorious. It may be a coincidence, but
there has been many objects throughout time that have opened up
curses, hauntings and other dimensions to the people who possess the
item.

the power of gaming
In Spidersilk, Mark has an amazing job
designing an MMO game that he hopes gamers will fall in love with. An
MMO game is a Massive Multiplayer Online game that allows players to
work, in part, with one another to boost their skills and complete an
objective. Although MMO games are often team based there is a still a
lot for the individual to accomplish. Like Mark's dreams MMOs allow
people to communicate and work with people they have never met
before. On the other hand, some people are making a lot of noise
about the way these types of games will affect our society as a
whole. For many, the concept of the games promotes isolation,
laziness, obesity and other less than desirable results. However,
studies have shown that these types of games actually boost social
skills, help promote higher levels of thinking and improve the way
people learn. As previously stated, you can think of these games a
lot like you would Mark's dreams. Mark had many friendships (or
allies) within his dreams. He also gained the ability to push himself
further and earn the skills and courage to stop his foes. What are
your thoughts on MMOs and the part they play in the future?

Without Technology
We have previously discussed the
concept of technological addiction, or the cleansing of the
addiction, that was mentioned in the book. We have not yet gone as
far as to talk about the people who might have felt that technology
was a problem. Just as in the book Spidersilk, there are people who
have not embraced our heavily technological world. There are actually
a number of technophobes, people who fear technology, in our society.
These people don't necessarily disagree with technology, but find the
concept of some of our most prized devices as frightening. There is
another level of this anti-technology world though. These people are
called Luddites and have been around since the 18th
century. Although Luddites originally stood for removing technology
that altered their economic standing, today's Luddites tend to keep
away from technology, especially newer devices, as much as possible.
So, do you think the thieves in the books were Technophobes or
Luddites or neither? This question might be tough given the fact that
the leader ran a highly technological company!

The Curious power of Spidersilk
Had you ever heard of spider silk being
protective prior to the novel? I certainly hadn't, so I had to take a
deeper look into the powers that spider silk actually has. As a
matter of fact, this insane silk is actually much stronger than steel
(5 times, if you're curious) while still maintaining the ability to
stretch out like rubber. This is great news for many industries that
are looking to the future. Many medical and military facilities have
already begun to realize the potential of this silk.
In the book, Mark was actually
protected by the spider silk the spiders had left in another realm.
This substance would certainly keep out any creepers, thanks to its
numerous powers. If you think about it, the book, Spidersilk, is
really setting the pace for the future as there is so many amazing
things that spider silk will help the human race overcome.

Feng Shui
You might not think about it often, but
Feng Shui is a major part of our lives. Even in the book Spidersilk,
we are shown aspects of Feng Shui without even noticing it. Mark is
quite keen on how his possessions and overall home appearance is
presented to the world, which is why he spends a good period of time
arranging his furnishings and finding furniture that worked with his
home. In fact, at one point he gazes out into his backyard and feels
that his yard has changed because he senses the change in the
environments chi. This is because Feng Shui is an environmental
energy that we all feel without realizing it. From the placement of
plants in a garden or furniture in a room you can feel at peace or
uncomfortable. Mark was in tune with his home's Feng Shui which is
part of the reason he was able to know when something wasn't quite
right with his furnishings, home and in general, his safety. Tuning
in to this special environmental energy allowed him a great advantage
when it came to taking on his enemies.

Maybe it's the eighth leg...
In the book Spidersilk, there were a
lot of elements that worked together to help Mark successfully take
down his enemies and restore his amazing quality of life. One of the
biggest contributions to this was the Spiders that were protecting
Mark. Most of us have a fear of spiders because they can be deadly,
but are also mysterious and hard to predict. However, in many
different cultures the Spider was seen as a protector. Many Native
American tribes used to pass down stories of the wisdom the Spider
protected to the point that the Spider was often referred to as a
grandmother. Islam also presents the spider as a protector who helps
weave strength into life. Protection from Mark's enemies was not the
only thing the Spiders may have helped Mark with. In fact, his
prosperity in finances and friendships might have been because of
these mysterious eight legged creatures.

In dreams I walk with you....
Some of Mark's friends and
acquaintances joined his life via dreams. Although this might not
seem realistic, there are actually many theories in which people can
meet and interact with one another. This theory is often referred to
as mutual dreaming or mutual telepathy. Numerous lucid dreamers have
claimed to have experienced these dreams with many people they know
and some they do not yet know. In Spidersilk, we are first
introduced to Garrick in a dream in which he helps Mark fight off an
enemy. Later on, Mark finally meets him in reality and the two act as
old friends. Another case is Tia/Mairis. Tia was a major part of
Mark's dreams and when Mairis comes into his life he begins to notice
they are the same person. Mairis even subtly comments that she likes
Mark's dreams in one area of the book.

Dreaming the future, or remembering the past?
The novel Spidersilk brings readers
into a world that is rich in dreams and other dimensions. Although in
reality we don't have a lot of experience about alternative
dimensions we do have a lot of experience with dreams. There is one
moment in the book where Mark finds a dirt road that he has clearly
seen before in his dreams. The idea of it being real isn't surprising
to Mark, but it certainly seems to tickle his curiosity. This
concept, generally referred to as deja vu affects a large percentage
of the population. Over the centuries there have been a lot of
studies on the topic of deja vu and many have actually led to the
theory of precognitive dreams. This theory supports a lot of deja vu
moments many people have, including the moment Mark had. Of course,
precognitive dreams have also proved to come true in many famous
situations like the Titanic.

The Queen
Spidersilk is filled with amazing
characters that make the story come to life. One such character is
the beautiful Isis, whose kidnapping plagues Mark for a good portion
of the book. There is a lot going on with the character Isis and one
of the major links you might want to look into is the connection with
the Egyptian Goddess Isis.
This goddess was seen as the patroness
of nature and magic. She was also known to listen to the prayers of
the aristocrats and wealthy, which might explain Isis' presence as
Mark's party. One of the coolest connections with the character in
Spidersilk and the goddess comes to play when Isis tells the story of
her kidnapping. Isis believes that a falcon led to her rescue from
the detox prison she was forced into. The goddess Isis was said to be
the mother of Horus, a god that appears with a falcon or hawk head.
Another great link, is Sett the kidnapper can be seen as the Egyptian
Set who murdered Isis' husband, Osiris. Isis, of course, led to the
capture of Sett in the book and the Egyptian goddess Isis resurrected
Osiris so he could fight another day. Cool, no?

A Common Link
Spidersilk brings to life the
possibility of there being many multiverses that are traveled by the
main character, Mark, as he dreams. A multiverse is several different
universes that exist at one time and can help define the present,
past and future. There are many different theories as to how the
universes combine together and in many each universe effects the way
the other works. This is such an exciting idea, but you might find it
very interesting that there are actually several theories and few
proofs that lean toward there being many multiverses. There have even
been curious sightings that might actually prove the existence of
multiverses.

A Sign of Hope
The falcon plays a major role in the
rescue of Mark's friends, as well as the capture of men who had been
abducting people and robbing them of technology. In the book the
falcon seems to play a mysterious role to Isis, who looks to it as an
entirely desperate move. When the falcon flies away she doesn't think
twice about it until help finally comes. There are many different
symbols for the falcon in literature and ancient folklore. One such
symbol is that of victory and rising above the situation. In other
stories it represents guardianship, visionary power and wisdom. We
know that the falcon helped saved Isis from the captors, but when you
think about it the falcon itself could be a symbol for Mark, who
easily jumps dimensions and defeats the villains. Another factor
about the falcon is it is the symbol of the rising sun. Before the
falcon is introduced Mark actually has contact with an Indian guide
who warns that the villain has problems with his “silent sun.”
So, how deep do you think the falcon actually runs through this
exciting story?

A Little Extra Sense
“Mark had odd sensations as though dangerous things were transpiring.” - Spidersilk
Have you ever had an inkling there was something wrong, only to find out your inkling was true? Mark in Spidersilk was pretty in tune with his body's vibes, but many people right off the sixth senses as something from sci-fi movies. The fact of the matter is that all people have more than the five senses we learn about in school. Being able to sense danger is actually one of our more important senses. There have been numerous scientific studies that link danger to more than just sight and sound. Yes, as a matter of fact, you can smell danger without even realizing it.

The Third Eye
“ Mark closed his eyes briefly and
then opened them again. This time, his third eye opened with them.
Suddenly, he could see all sorts of energies.”- Spidersilk
Spidersilk is so complex in more ways
than one. In the book we are introduced to a concept referred to as
the third eye. Some scientist believe the third eye to be the pineal
gland, while others believe it to be a mystical part of the body that
can only be unlocked by some. Once unlocked the person is open to
their own inner realms and a state of higher consciousness. The Hindu
god Shiva actually has a visible third eye, although the eye is
generally closed it harbors powers than men could only dream of
having. Many ancient cultures even believe that the third eye, one
of the seven major chakras, can be accessed better through various
yoga moves.
This is a great site for furthering
your knowledge on the third eye:

chakra check out this site:

Deamsphere
Throughout Spidersilk the main
character, Mark, experiences many different types of dreams. In many
of the dreams, like with those that involve Tia, Mark feels as if he
actually has control over his surroundings. This could be looked at
as Mark dimension surfing, but there is also another option. In our
reality, there has been many studies and speculations on a sleep
state called lucid dreaming. This state actually implies that we are
in control of our dreams and are aware of our surroundings the entire
time we are supposed to be “unconscious.” Some people who lucid
dream even claim to have left their body and experienced an OBE, or
Out of Body Experience.

Dreaming, check out this article:

A Link In Dimensions
Throughout the book there is a lot of
references to other cultures; such as this little gem:
“The smooth lines on Ramses’s face
did not make him appear old. His skin folded in a way that made his
face look chiseled and refined, like a block of stone come to
life.”- Spidersilk
When you pictured Ramses what did you see in your mind? Was it one of the great Egyptian kings
immortalized in stone? Both Ramesses's in Egyptian culture have been
immortalized in stone. They will forever look young and chiseled,
much like Ramses was featured in the story!
If you'd like a little 411 on these
great kings and their images try this cool link:

Interactive/Internet TV
...Mark reached for the mouse on his home entertainment system. Immediately, the TV began displaying the current video news from various Internet news sources. - Spidersilk
At the beginning of the book Mark, it is revealed that Mark doesn't have the typical TV system. Here he has and entertainment multiplex pre-programmed to access ‘various sources’ and content. This could be more interactive or run on a program. Sites like YouTube offer ‘channels’ that categorize content yet Marks idea takes this a bit further.

Interactive Realms
“…To me, they are real places, real threads in another dimension. Most real things have a design phase.” – Mark in Spidersilk.
The MMO game Mark is designing in the beginning of the book include fully interactive side. It includes a internet game piece/component trading and selling as well as real players. The components have a real world texture with aging, value and condition. This game is sort of like an interactive story to be explored by real characters. A lot of MMO have game piece trading and this takes the idea a bit further.
